Intel based Mac: Presenting the MacBook Pro!

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Apple finally released its Intel based Mac and it looks sweet! As their ad campaign says, it is 4 times faster than a PowerBook. It comes with an Intel Core DUO CPU on 1.67GHz ($1,999.00) or 1.83GHz($2,499.00). You can of course customize your mac to meet your needs!

The Intel Core Duo and a whole new architecture give MacBook Pro up to four times the horsepower of PowerBook G4

Both versions come with a Built-in iSight Camera, Front Row with apple remote, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB, the updated version of Mac OS X, iLife ‘06 and more. They also introduced the MagSafe Power Connector which uses magnets to ’stick’ into the adapter slot with ease.

The new power adapter with MagSafe connector is designed to magnetically GUIde your cord into place and disconnect smoothly if someone (else) trips over it.

From the pictures it looks extra thin (1 inch) with a very slick design and smooth edges. It’s a Mac after all! (:
Another cool thingy is the Apple Remote they include in the package. It looks like an iPod shuffle but it is actually a remote for controlling applications for photos slideshows, presentations, music playback and more.

If you need to present to a group, or you’d like to just watch MacBook Pro from across your hotel room, you’ve got everything you need. With the Front Row interface and Apple Remote, you’re free to sit or stand across the room and present photos, movies and music at the click of your remote.

Finally check the gallery where you can take a more detailed look of the new MacBook and also a 360 view!
